As a child one of my most favorite pastimes was picking the dandelion flowers’ floating puffball seeds, and blowing them in the air (wondering where and how far they would go), while making a wish believing I would be granted one wish! (there is a long running folk belief that blowing out the white puffball of seeds that the flowers turns into, will grant you one wish.)
Releasing those puffballs for me, meant freedom, lasting happiness and youthful joy….in other words, freeing…me: my creativity, my imaginations for what I could be, and freeing my hopes dreams of a successful life!
Even then, while very young, in some way, I knew that the little puffballs of floating seed summoned me, that I could come out of any situation, and emerge victorious!
Today, the dandelion has become my symbol-of freedom! It is my reminder that I can rise above difficult conditions and get my dreams fulfilled; that I can travel to parts unknown, and be free to dream, and be creative and imaginative!
As I grew and developed, and at the budding age of 29, I was introduced to, and found the source of all peace and happiness, in the person of JESUS Christ!
I now realize that there can be no “peace” until we find peace “with” JESUS, the Christ. He is our peace! JESUS said, “ I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give, is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
I now realize, that the floating puffball seeds were the vehicle for my perceptive views and the spiritual positioning, that I experience today!
Receive the knowledge of Him; then you will experience this divine peace, which exceeds anything you can understand! His peace will guard your heart, your dreams and your mind, as you live in Christ Jesus.
Today, I am many decades away from being that tiny, eight year old, little girl who dared to look up, blow the dandelion puffballs to the wind and wish; I continue to dream and consciencely create: peace, happiness, fulfilment and success!
My message? Do not give up, even if those around you keep trying to hinder and block you.
Stick it out and remember the excitement and expectation of dreaming, on a sunny, summer’s day when things seem bleak or dark.
